Hi Steve

Are you using UAW on your European Cruise blog? If so then you are definitely NOT being penalised for getting too many links too quickly since, according to http://yahoo.search.siteexplorer.com you only have 153 external links to that site (not using a WWW in front... with www there are none).

You also have to take into account that most article directories review articles before they go live on the site... so even if you submit 50 articles per day they will probably take several weeks (and possibly even months) before they are live and indexed.

I have used a similar program (magic article submitter) for some of my backlinking and no matter how many articles I submit at once they take forever to be reviewed.

Stan, I'm trying that now. Seems that my page is getting up again but it's still slow compared to the peak I reached. I'm now keeping submissions to 25 a day and when it reaches 200 submissions, I'm tuning down to 10 a day to make it "natural" for SEs. Let's see the progress.

I got discouraged with UAW and cancelled my subscription! I might pick it up at a later date but as for now I'm not going to.

Steve, they are all brand new domains and UAW is the only promotion strategy I use for them. I had some bad experiences with getting too many backlinks to a new site too fast in the past, so I take particular care not make the mistake again. I'm aware of the fact that 50 is what they recommend, but to be frank I don't think it is a good recommendation.

Evan, I don't think that a drop from page 2 to page 3 could be a sandboxing sign. It does happen, especially with new domains. Keep the submission rate lower (25/day could be fine) and submit a new article when UAW finishes the submission cycle for the current one. Also, remember to vary your anchor text so that your links look more natural.

Hi Steve and others..

soooo maybe this is why one of my sites.. with all its unique content is no where to be found... though when i google site: etc.. all the pages are there... now i am thinking is was possibly sandboxed due to too many backlinks and possible use of UAW.. if that is the case.. when does google allow you to play again? is sandboxed a permanent thing.. if you just keeping adding content will that be enough?
any idea how long it take to get out of the 'dog house'?? thanks Lizzie
btw.. i love what you are doing Steve!

Stan, I too followed UAW's recommendation of 50 submissions daily. Within 2 wks I had a page ranked 11 (pg 2) with daily visits of 20 a day. That lasted for a mere week. As I can see from now the same keywords's pushed down to 24 (pg 3 of google). Either the page's sandboxed by google or the increase in the no. of sites with same keywords.

Either tat, I'm trying for 25 submissions a day with UAW. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks Stan for your experiences. You could very well be right that I didn't use UAW correctly. However, I did follow the recommendations given by UAW. Also with regards to the domains you are promoting, are they brand new domains and have you used other strategies for promoting those sites?

...sorry, something went wrong with my last comment. What I meant was: What I also learned is that one article is usually not enough to get your site to page one if it starts somewhere lower, you need at least a few and this obviously will take more time with the submissions set to 20/day or lower.

Hope that helps!
