After just checking on my stats I noticed a few visitors arriving from google for a few of my main target keywords like “european cruises”. After getting a bit excited about this I checked on google and sure enough my blog has been indexed in google for my main keywords at last. Although it is indexed it is still very low in the rankings for those keywords but that is what usually happens.
I love it when stuff like this happens because it is almost like google finally agrees that your site is worthy of a place in it’s indexes for the prime keywords for that niche however low in the rankings that the site may be.
My job now is to keep going with the backlinking strategy of getting quality inbound links using my target keywords as anchor text. Traffic was up again yesterday and today looks like it is going to rise a bit more again. I won’t see real massive increases in traffic until I get onto page 1 of google for those keyword phrases I am targeting though..

Hey Steve. Good stuff and congrats on your effort. I found the warrior run thread when searching adsense tools. I must admit, I did not read all 18 pages of the thread but skimmed it to get an idea of what you were trying to achieve. What I like about your method is you are not trying to hype anything, but giving solid advise that most are aware of, but lack the focus to complete the task.
After skimming your thread, I was more curious about wordpress than adsense. Been using adsense for a while, and like you, I know that it is more about hard work (i.e. getting taffic) than any formula that others may try to pass on as the magic to riches. I may have to look into the advantages of wordpress, but my gut says that drupal gives me the same marketing features, but not 100% sure.
Good luck on your 100 days … it is a worthy effort no matter what the final amount is.
If you don’t mind my asking, how many different keyword phrases are you using and are they 2-3 word combinations or more?
Just curious, since I personally tend to target long tail in PPC, and want to know if you follow a similar strategy in creating an adsense site.
You have given me such motivation. I have always wanted to start a blog and with your help I feel like I have a direction. Thank You.
do you think the target keyword results are a result of your backlinking with the keyphrase as the link text or just results from having good content?
I am targeting around 200 words of which the majority are 2 word phrases and the rest are between 3 and 5 words.
The reason for the target keyword results is a combination of on page and off page SEO, they go together like fish and chips..
Steve:
Am enjoying your journey.
Question for you.. I know that you have used Firepow to some extent – though not on this blog/experiment. If you had been using Firepow – do you think that you would have been closer to your goal at this point?
Thanks.
Hi Kathy,
Although I haven’t used Firepow specifically for this blog, the end result is quite similar to how a Firepow wordpress blog is. Yes, it would have made it easier but I don’t know if I would have been closer to my goal or not to be honest.
Firepow is great because it gives you the interface to build and promote a blog you create really easily with some great plugins to help with SEO. You can achieve the same results manually though, which is what I have done here..
Hi Steve,
I’ve stumbled your post about this 100$ challenge in WarriorForum, and LOVE you instantLy! I’m a struggling internet marketers for a year now (lost and no idea what’s wRong). I reaLLy like & honor your intention to proof this thing. Now I’m foLLowing you step by step..
Best Regards!
Still cant belive this work
i get about 100 near about visitor but get click like 3 to 4 a day
so how its posible 200 visiter give you big cash ??
or it dosnt related with visiter??
“sorry i am new”
There are a number of reasons why your 100 visitors a day are not converting to well for you. It could be the niche you are in, the placement and type of your ads, the keywords you are targeting, where your visitors are coming from to name but a few pointers.
Steve:
Just wondering – the pictures that you are using on your blog – they look like they have been edited (to soften the edges). What software are you using to do this?
Thanks
