So realistically to get to my $100 a day target from this blog by now I should be at least up to $50 a day and seeing around 1000 visitors a day also.. Unfortunately I am falling short of that by some margin, I could blame the recession, global warming or make a million other excuses but I won’t, this cruise market is a tough one to crack. I am not going to back down or bottle it or anything like that though, I am more determined than ever to get to my target!
Now the good news is that I have seen a slow increase in traffic over the past few days and this has been reflected in my adsense income. I am now hovering around 15% of my target income a day. It fluctuates wildly, some days its a lot more and some days a lot less but averages around 15%.

I am still waiting for the rest of my articles to get written and then I will post and promote like a madman over the next few weeks and then just hope that the mighty google see fit to rank me highly for all the big juicy keywords that I am targeting. They will do it eventually but whether they will do it before the end of this challenge, who knows?

Awesome stuff Steve.
I’ve avoided Adsense in the past, mainly because I didn’t see the point.
However, since I started reading your post on the Warrior Forum, and on your blog here, I’ve begun to rethink that position.
It would be nice to have a few passive income sites, instead of relying 99% on PPC like I currently am.
It’s definitely given me something to think about, and I will certainly research it further.
Thanks!
interesting to see that the average pages per visit stays around 10 with apeak of 13.6 on the 23rd and a low 7.9 yesterday. Seems like some people did a lot of research on monday (having the idea of doing a cruise on sunday and researching from their computers at work on monday).
Still, $15/day means $450 a month in a 30-day month.
I have a content site with 800 pages that makes $137 a week!
Oops, I meant $137 a MONTH.
Wishful thinking, I guess.
Yep, $15 a day (or around 10 of our UK pounds)
is pretty good for that amount of traffic. Once all the hard work is done (and as this blog shows it is hard graft starting a quality content site from scratch) then that gives you an idea of what can be achieved once the traffic levels rise.
Ten times the amount of traffic could give you a nice little earner and once all the main work of setting up and optimising the site is done then it’s passive income that will keep on coming, especially if you keep adding good content (which can be outsourced and paid for from existing profits while you work on your next site). Rinse and repeat. Clearly the cruises market is a niche with a high click cost for advertisers and therefore a decent rate per click for adsense publishers.
interesting project.
can you reveal where your visitors are coming from geographically?
maybe then target some pages on that region or use this info later for ppc.
good luck in meeting your target.
Well done on the work so far, I guess momentum should build now with the traffic…hopefully. Sometimes the purpose of the goals is to have something to aim at rather that actually hit them
Hi Steve,
In addition to getting new articles written for promotion, are you adding new content to your blog on a daily basis as well?
Good luck – it’s a fascinating challenge that I’m attempting to replicate myself, but I’m going at a much slower pace than yourself
